Faculty of Law's review of courses for admission to legal practice 2011

The Faculty of Law completed a comprehensive review of its LLB and JD courses for admission to practice in 2010.  Following the report of the external panel that conducted that review, the Faculty and has now commenced  an LLB and JD Curriculum Review.

Terms of Reference

The LLB and JD Curriculum Review terms of reference are to:

i. reflect on the findings of previous reviews, particualrly the LLB course review chaired by Professor Bernadette McSherry and concluded in October 2010

ii. identify what is distinctive about our curriculum relative to other law schools

iii. articulate the similarities and differences between the LLB and the JD curriculums

iv. update our curriculum approaches to teaching and learning in the light of modern teaching and learning theories, and

v. align our curriculum with the ALTC Threshold Learning Outcomes and Monash graduate attributes to ensure that the curriculum meets all certification, accreditation and other requirements (Council of Australian Law Deans [CALD]; Council of Legal Education [COLE]; AQF; ALTC & TLOs; TEQSA)

Consultations with stakeholders were completed in September 2011 and the Faculty is now considering all submissions.
