Enrolments Information

The information below is a selection of the faculty specific enrolment information. You will find the complete university information on the homepage of Monash University Enrolment.

Course Progression

You are encouraged to follow the  3 years or 4 years course progression in order to complete the course with minimal disruption.  However, the table of Pre- and Co-requisites for JD Units  is provided to you to guide in your selection of units if you:

  • return from intermission  after less than a full year.
  • whish to reduce your study load from any of the the suggested course outlines.
  • whish to add units.
  • fail any units and are required to withdraw from currently enrolled units.

You should also consult the Timetable to check unit offerings and to avoid potential clashes in later trimesters.  If you have any questions or would like assistance with the selection, please contact the program coordinator on monashjd@law.monash.edu.au.

Enrolment Variation

You may add and discontinue units on WES up until the WES Variation Dates given in the Unit Discontinuation Dates page.  If you must vary your enrolment after these dates, you must submit an Enrolment Amendment Form.  You can collect and return the required Enrolment Amendment Form at the Reception at the Law Chambers.  Before you return the Enrolment Amendment Form you should ensure that you have completed the required Pre- and Co-requisites for JD Units.

Discontinuation of Units

If you discontinue a unit, there are significant dates in terms of how a discontinuation may affect the way in which this unit is recorded on your academic transcript. The relevant dates for intensive and trimester long JD units are listed in the Unit Discontinuation Dates page. If you are enrolled in intensive, semi-intensive or summer elective units, they will follow other teaching periods.
