Professional Profile
Kathryn teaches and researches in the areas of administrative law, property law and taxation law and policy. Kathryn is undertaking a doctoral thesis that explores the rise of value added taxation. In 2007, Kathryn was awarded the Graham Hill International Fiscal Association Research Prize for outstanding quality of this doctoral research. She has published on tax law and policy including publications in the British Tax Review and Theoretical Inquiries in Law. Kathryn has presented a number of papers on tax law and policy both in Australia and internationally including Cambridge University, UCLA and Humboldt University. Kathryn was admitted as a barrister and solicitor of the Supreme Court of Victoria in 2005. Her professional background encompasses experience working with the Commonwealth government and the Victorian parliament. Kathryn graduated from Monash University in 2003 with a BA and LLB with first class honours and was awarded the Sir John Monash Award for Academic Excellence. Kathryn is an active volunteer with a strong commitment to social justice. She has a longstanding involvement with Springvale Monash Legal Service.
